About Rita Festin

Rita R. Festin is the Senior Media and External Relations Officer of the Asian Development Bank’s Philippine Country Office.  

She is a 1984 graduate of AB English Language and Literature at De la Salle University where she was awarded a gold medal for her thesis.  Her first job was as a staff reporter of Ang Pahayagang Malaya where she worked from 1983 to 1984.  At the same time, she was also teaching some English and literature subjects at De La Salle University.  In 1985, she joined the Office of Media Affairs in Malacanang as close-in reporter to then First Lady, Mrs. Imelda Romualdez Marcos and later on as senior presidential reporter under the Cory Aquino administration.  In 1987, she worked for the PR Office of the Paper Industries Corporation of the
Philippines up to 1994.  When she left PICOP to join the ADB, her last position was as Corporate Relations and Communications Manager.  She was Treasurer of the Public Relations Society of the
Philippines for two terms.  She finished her MBA Regular Program in 2002 at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business at Rockwell,
Makati.
